Character Sheet for Slo Li
Sex/Gender
Male
Species
Sloth
Age
48
Character Description
Slo Li is a master of the "Slow Fist" style of kung fu, has found his "niche" in martial arts movies and uses his movie career to finance a small school teachign that style in LA.
Personality
Calm, serene..  almost impossible to get a surprised or otherwise "fast" reaction from him.
Likes/Dislikes
Likes: A dedicated student, a well filmed scene, pleasant company with his friends, golf, fine dining.
Dislikes: He tends to think that disliking something is disrespectful, so tries to avoid that. That’s not to say he’ll actually DO it, just find some way not to without actually saying he doesn’t like it. “It’s not my place to like or dislike, approve of or disapprove of some other furs pleasure. I am content with my own.” Pretty much the only thing guaranteed to piss him off is a student not trying. Or an actor in a scene he’s trying to run doing the same.
Background/History
Slo Li was born in Yingtan, Jiangxi province, China. Like both his parents he is a three toed sloth. When he was only six months old, his parents immigrated to the USA, settling in southern CA. While it is not generally known, he was severely bullied as a child and ridiculed for his slow movement. In his teens he returned to China, “seeking his roots” and spent 20 years at a little-known monastery deep in the Chinese interior. Since then his name has become much more known as the star in several Hong Kong and Hollywood produced martial arts films. He is now in the later stages of middle age, his 10-year career in film having provided him with quite the lavish lifestyle where he now lives in Los Angeles.
Relatives/Family
His father was a fisherman, his mother a weaver. Both are now deceased. They were both from Yingtan, Jiangxi province, China.
Body
He wears his hair in a long Chinese-style queue and has a somewhat cliché “Fu Manchu” mustache. His body is a grey-gold, somewhat darkening to the ends of his extremities and with a browner texture creeping in around the tip of his muzzle. He is dedicated about polishing his claws every morning so they are always a shiny white. His teeth, not so much. He does it often enough to prevent decay but he often has morning dog-breath. and they are a little yellowed.
Clothing
Most often wears a simple black uniform similar to those worn by tai chi practitioners but with dark red piping over every seam indicating his status in his chosen art.

I did kinda always think it'd be nice to learn a martial art discipline, but I never knew if there were someone that could teach it at my pace.

Blame Leafy. I have to say that because Verb told me to :P Personally I think he carries almost equal blame. She shared a gif, Verb and I started riffing on it.. and I ended up with a new character to write :) Of course now I have to actually do the world building and other assorted stuff around a martial art based on slowness rather than speed, but what the hey - I like a challenge.

And then make it viable for movie action scenes too.

He smiled, slowly.. 'If you will not move, any of you, then I regret I must walk through you...' and he simply seems to walk forward..  but everyone within a small circle centered on him flies backwards off into the middle distance in true choppy-socky style and he just keeps walking....
