After catching Cynthia in a no-win situation, she threw her entire stock of smoke bombs at Emperor Danny to draw his attention away from her former ally. They helped each other after that, but Cynthia condition degraded at a constant rate to where doctors told her to give up being a ninja or else she would be paralyzed. Cynthia snitches on Cuddleina which caused Maria to call her into the office and chewed her out.
Ultimately, Maria fired her for negligence and she decided to go rogue having no lords or masters.
