In 2001, I ended up abandoning my playthrough of Pokemon Gold because Misty was too hard for my middle-school self. Then, this winter, I got a copy of Heart Gold from a friend and after 106 hours of gameplay I BEAT it!
Naturally, my starter was a Cyndaquil that I named after [iconname]Goji[/iconname]'s Jet. He uh... had this habit of fainting a lot. >_>
it did, just had to beat the elite 4 a few times, hell I even went on to beat Red on Mt. Silver. Now THAT was a real fight....though pikachu was a wimp x3
