Here is Rent-A-Hero (Taro Yamada) hanging out with Daniel and his sister Margaret. Striking a pose to show that even in a goofy outfit, Taro can still act cool even in the face of doing menial tasks (which his game and Dreamcast remake are about) Daniel, donning sunglasses like the blonde haired hero, tries to strike Taro's pose, but has a bit of a difficulty doing so, and Margaret, who's wearing some shades too, can't help but watch her big brother try to be like the under-rated Sega character.
This one is a remake of this picture https://inkbunny.net/submissionview.php?id=795289 and dear sweet lord is it ever an improvement. I did like the pose I used, which was a pose from an Elite Beat Agents promotion art, but god damn his right hands fingers look so mangled and broken, and the legs look so oddly proportioned. With this picture, however, I couldn't be any more impressed with. I actually too a picture of myself posing that way (not easy when you have a 3DS camera and not so much space to take it in XD) and worked by using simple shapes to position Taro before I drew in his details first before I did the head on this one. as for the design of Rent-A-Hero, I used his model in the Japanese Dreamcast remake, Rent-A-Hero No. 1 http://www.hanging-waters.com/games/hero/heroaa017.jpg
That background however, leaves a lot to be desired. I tried to color it like my other pictures that had that sort of midday lighting, but here’s the thing, Colored pencils can't really get that sky effect I was going for. Something like this sky color http://www-tc.pbs.org/parents/daniel/files/2012/07/dtn... but for now, I hope it pleases you.
