Bio=Toryu is a Ronin, learning about his powers as he goes.
He happened upon an attempted rape in progress, which he tried to stop, but was beat to the punch by a Nekojin wearing red glasses. He confronted him about this, which led to Toryu getting his ass handed to him with minimal effort by his opponent. The Nekojin remarked that "he had talent" and offered Toryu "the opportunity to get better at your craft".
Not wanting to be dependent on someone, Toryu declined, but later ran into the same girl he tried to help at a local import shop. She was hot, smart, and a damn good talker. Kitsune, as she was named, gave credit to a person she kept calling "Shadow-san". Intrigued, Toryu went to her place and found this "Shadow-san" guy was actually the same nekojin who whooped his ass earlier. His real name was Bloodshade Shadowclaw, the "Shadow-san" moniker was from when he was young. He had heard about someone like that in the papers, some old news article about a "massacre fit for a king" but didn't think much of it at the time. Toryu didn't know he was talking to one of the three survivors of that murder, the murderer was Bloodshade's older brother Jisushu. The others who survived were Bloodshade's younger sister, Ari, and their grandmother Meniiba. Everyone else in Shadow-san's little circle knew about what happened, they all knew he cared about them and would give anything and everything to keep them safe. And they would do the same for him.
Touched by their deep knowledge of each other, Toryu joined them, and to this day fights by their side, occasionally dating Kitsune.
