That is a lazy background, I know. But then SoUnd backgrounds more often than not did look like watercolor paintings. :)
...I'm scribbling on a Sonic Underground fan fiction that borrows Sally Acorn + her freedom fighters (and a select few game characters), warping them to fit the SoUnd universe. Some only get a few style and background tweaks; others get a full makeover. (I went to Amy's first incarnation in the old manga, and mixed in bits of later versions.)
So, Amy Rose:
Eight years old rascal who likes to sneak out of Knothole to mysterious caves and ruins around the woods; drags Tails into trouble with her on occasion. She reads tarot cards and is the village's best member at dowsing. She's managed to predict weather changes a few times.
Due to Robotnik's fear of the Prophecy, her family was swept up in his witch hunt for hedgehogs. She doesn't hold it against the royal triplets though; on the contrary she develops a starry-eyed crush on "prince" Sonic the day she meets him. (...Come on, I couldn't change that.)
Here she's on lookout duty at the edge of Knothole and spotted something :p
