I recently have acquired a wonderful musical instrument that was used by one of my favorite neofolk bands. Aslak Tolonen, the leader of the Finnish neofolk band called Nest, was selling his kantele to anyone who was interested in purchasing it. This was because Nest had disbanded, thus Aslak no longer had a need for keeping it. Realizing this was an opportunity that occurs once in a lifetime, I quickly sent him a message. After giving him my address and paying the agreed upon price, he shipped the kantele along with a carrying case. I received it a week later and have started to tune it properly with the instructions he gave me. Having experience with playing the kokle, a similar stringed instrument from Latvia, I think learning to play the kantele should not be too difficult.
