Looking around, you can see all kinds of bullying; verbal, physical, cyber. All of them hurt. There is no 'can hurt' about them, they all do. But none hurt more than mental. None of them are harder to prove than mental. When a child is mentally bullied, they break down, become unsocial.
Social technology is helping that. Back in the late nineties, when my generation was going up, kids had to go outside for fun. We didn't have phones to text on. We didn't have Skype. We couldn't get on the internet and play games all day. I've noticed that as technology progresses, people get less social. We're getting lazier and lazier. The less we have to step out of our homes, the better.
Younger generations are getting spoiled. I've seen kids as young as SIX with a real Iphone. At six years old, I was more worried about how to ride a four wheeler than work a phone. Now, I don't know about you, but I say that's just sad.
With the new technology comes a new form of bullying comes into light. Now, I'm not afraid to admit that I am guilty of this, but I'm also a victim. It's a form of mental bullying. I don't know what to call it or what it's called, but it hurts, MAJORLY! It's when someone's is there for someone else, but gets blown off completely.
It's happened to me too many times. I was constantly asking my friends who was free just about every weekend. Some of them would make plans with me, but when someone they liked better asked them to hang out after plans were made with me, I'd get blown off. For no reason what so ever. I finally got tired of it and said forget it.
All that was said to say this: The smarter we get, the more naive we get. We are more consumed in ourselves to see those that are really hurting.
