Please use the option "+Friend this User" when you actually know the user and/or speak to them often.
I'm getting these Friend Requests from people I don't know. I won't add you if I don't know you.
Even with popular artists I like to watch, I don't friend request them because I respect their work and only know them by what they present online.
To be honest, I get intimidated easily. I'd rather disappear into the forgotten corner of the website than to ask people why they want to friend me.
