The more I stay in Puerto Rico, the more I am reminded of how painfully white my skin is ^^; Yes. PAINFULLY. Let me list a few reasons.
1) I was only in the sun at the beach for 2 hours in the water, and I am burned now, even though I DROWNED my skin in sun block.
2) People assume I don't know Spanish that well, and talk to my darker brother first to ask if he can translate. He took French in High School. FRENCH! This happened a few times already.
3) People don't think I'm related to my family, or the group of my family I was with. I was almost excluded because one guy wouldn't let me in to the restaurant because he didn't know my grandmother brought us ALL there as family, thinking I was just some white guy sneaking in.
4) Again, burns. I can't even tan because when I try, I just go straight from white to red. I can't get that in between color that would look just a bit darker, because my skin won't let me.
... Well... That's all for now. And, no I don't think being white is bad for OTHER people. Its just MY skin tone doesn't work for me and my lifestyle. You all can be as white as you want. Or as black. Or as yellow. Or as brown. Or as tan. Or as red. Or as purple. Or as any other color I can't think of now. I'll just be jealous of the tan ones who don't burn easily and look Latino.
Well... Byee ^^;
