Seriously....

by
If you, the casual +watcher, are disinterested in my stories, artwork of my characters, my humor, and/or journals of things I like sharing, than why follow me? No-one's under any obligation to +watch me, regardless if I +watch them or +fave a submission of theirs. Sure, I'd like to have as many +watches here on IB (111) as I had at my peak on FA (141), but I'd like to have earned them. I'm glad I do have a few good friends who do, and I'm certainly glad anyone would take enough interest in a +watch-- It means I must be doing something right! :)

I want to be interesting enough to earn your +watch, or that I get you to laugh (if I have, I've done my job!), or that you like Amy and Ilene, or whatever... Maybe I turned you on to my interest in infrared photography, exoplanets, or leptictidiums... Or maybe my Writing Challenges have inspired you...

But if you're disinterested, then why bother? I don't do prizes for any kiribans or anything like that, so if you're expecting something like that...

But to those who want to be my +watchers, THANK YOU! I hope I've been worthy of your time, and I truly appreciate it greatly! It makes this old skunk's day to know I mean something to someone... :)

Exactly. ^^ Same goes for me. Despite one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) fall-outs in all of furfandom, I've risen like a phoenix and earned (that's earned, not bought) friends and followers here and on other sites (except perhaps the elitist one). And I'm grateful to rekindle your friendship and trust. *HUGS*

You are certainly not anyone I'm complaining about. :) And the fact that almost all of your music submissions have used the same avatar icon I used to post a mix you did for me many years ago shows that appreciation of friendship and respect between us. :)

In other words, Watchers in the sly, your intrepid Watched would like some feedback from you. :p  Sure, he's got folk like LupineAssassin, DOtter, and some weirdo with the robo-unicorn avatar, but that doesn't tell him what attracted you to him and what keeps you coming back.

I know many of you Watch because the stuff in the gallery looked good.  Maybe you happen to know DM from somewhere or simply liked his comments.  Possibly it was just a bit of a whim before you moved on to look at something else.  Most of you probably aren't as picky (or stingy?) with your Watches and Favorites as I am. :p

Why don't you comment more?  It's forgivable if you don't.  Sometimes, we intend to say something, perhaps reply to some topic, and we get distracted or decided to wait a little bit, leaving the comment dead before arrival.  Usually, we have no idea what to say, so take the safe route of saying nothing.

But that leaves poor DM sitting there, wondering what he's doing right, what he's doing wrong, and worst of all, feeling a bit lonely. :(  The DJ wolf, the calendrical otter, and... the weirdo are great and all that, but even they have limits on what they can do. ;p

So, please, please, dear silent Watcher, would you kindly comment a facepalm in this journal and put an end to comments that think they're pledge drives in public broadcasting? :p

I'm fine with that. :) I just don't like wasted +watches-- Even if I don't know the fur who is +watching me, I'd rather hope the +watch is a worthwhile one, and not like some who just stuff their +watch list just to say they +watch so many more others. (Like one individual on FA who is trying to +watch EVERY SINGLE FA ACCOUNT THAT EXISTS, just so he (assuming) can claim the most +watches, and says so outright on his page! :P And the user hit with this +watch can't force an -unwatch-- It's not an option! One can block, one can ban, but one can't force an -unwatch, on either FA or IB. (And it's rare for me to have a reason to block or ban. I've done it, but to only 5 furs. I'd need a damn good reason to do it, and just because someone's disinterested in me, but neglecting to -unwatch, or think they're obligated to +watch, irrespective of interest, is not good enough reason.)

I appreciate the +watch, just as long as I'm worth the effort. :)

I don't know why someone would watch an account if they weren't interested in what was posted there. Admittedly, I don't always watch people for very solid reasons. Sometimes it's just because they have a pretty style, or interesting characters. In your case, I originally watched you because you have a cute little mousey, and I find the things you post and the comments you leave to be intelligent and worth reading. But I can't fathom watching someone you don't care a thing about. Even if I am pretty lousy at leaving comments.

Thank you for all the compliments! :) Amy's been very popular ever since I introduced her to the furry community in early 2002, just a couple months after creating her as a mascot concept. Heck, I knew from the start she would be Rule-34ed, so I did it to her before someone else did. ;) While the AM stereo enthusiasts' group I had created her for had collapsed a year later (was under constant attack by a rival enthusiast), Amy continued on as such an endearing, cheeky, and just "slightly" cheesy character with such a dynamic personality, that there was no way I could mothball her- She has taken on a life of her own, and continues to be the single best character I've created. :)

I do need to write up a commission wishlist for her, even if I can't afford to commission anyone. :(
