Need help...

Well, it's that time: I've left the military and it's time to come out... but I'm nervous as hell. I know my family will be fine with it, in fact, I think most suspect, but I just can't find the words when the opportunity presents itself. There are too many butterflies in my stomach. Anyone got any tips, hints or suggestions? Any cheat codes to this one? Up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Start?

wait till you have more support. right now your parents love you, and im sure they will after you tell them too, but you need not open yourself up fully until you get a little more adjusted back in civilian society :-). Hope that helps you

There will always be those that accept and those that don't, once you have someone by your side to support you you'll find it much easier, and natural, telling them. Never have to rush these kind of things, sometimes it can be a delicate issue but your family will be supportive whatever the case.
As for friends, there will be some that accept, others that don't and others that don't but hide it. Those that accept and those that hide it are your true friends so just ignore the rests remarks and be yourself! If they don't like you for who you are then they're not friends.
