Love your sibs.... or LOVE your sibs

Tom and Lucy Little. Everyone knows who they are, and if you don't look it up.  From the cartoon Littles, about a family of mouse like elves that borrows from "The Borrowers"are brother and sister. Normal enough, but if you see their extra cuddly behavior, you stop thinking they are siblings and start thinking sibs with benefits  I grew to call the implied incest in cartoons a "Littles' Complex" and brother are there a lot of characters with extra feely connections to their family members.  Its like the animators and writers were all only children and desperately wanted a sibling to play with.  They threw all that want into their creations and much to Freud's delight, they slipped up.  And here is a small list of the ones I feel deserve mention.

Top Ten Animated Incest loaded Relationships

10- Donald Duck/ Daisy Duck (Disney)= Disney's ducks are all related one way or another.  I bet if you do the math on wiki, there is 6 degrees of separation between these two.

9- Big Mac/ Applejack (FiM)= Yeah everyone knows about the typo that made these two an item, but think about it.  In the Cutie Mark Chronicles, its just Mac and AJ on the farm with Granny.  Next thing you know BAM!  There is Applebloom.  Where the heck did she come from.  I want to believe that her folks were too heart broken to see her off, but that just ain't clicking in my dirty little mind.

8- April,May, June/ Huey, Dewey, Louie (Disney)=  If the math is right, this pair of trios that were created to be sweet hearts and are 3rd cousins.  If they don't share a same father.

7- Rusty Wildwood/ Hollie Wildwood (Sylvanian Families)=  They share a Little's Complex that matches Tom and Lucy Little.  The only reason they are not higher on the list is because Rusty seems to have an interest in Scarlett Slydale.

6- Mac Gopher/ Tosh Gopher (Looney Tunes)=  Do I even have to give an explanation?

5- Kirk Van Houten/ Luann Van Houten (Simpsons)=  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFQCo91DD2c  This just seems a little silly, but then you realize she originally lived in Shelbyville.  A town that was founded specifically because the people wanted to marry their cousins.

4- Marlin/ Nemo (Finding Nemo)=  I can argue this with science!  Clownfish are hermaphrodites.  When the female of a pair is removed from the equation (like getting eaten by a large fish)  the largest of the clownfish males will switch genders and copulate with the next largest male.  Now do you see why he was so eager to get his son back?!

3- Fievel Mouskawitz/Tanya Mouskawitz (An American Tail) =  Now one could say that she was just pining for the brother she lost on the ship, and then was really glad to get him back at the end of the show, but what about the sequels?    In Fivel goes west, she is a saloon girl, and every cowboy movie tells me that those girls had 3 jobs:  Performer, Waitress, Hooker.   Later that movie was rebooted to be a dream of Fivel's.  WHY IS HE DREAMING ABOUT HIS SISTER BEING A CALL GIRL?  Sure its hormones.... and then the next movie in the series you see that the two share a bed.  At that point I threw up my hands and said "It's true."

2- Big Brother ponies (Gen1 MLP)=  Ahhh gen1.  You never let me down with your crazy.  Now before the BBPs were shown, there was Nightshade.  He was a blank flank and obviously batting for the other team.  The BBPs were the male superstars of the series for 1 story arc.  Every mare was drooling over them. I would not complain if they were just called "stallions" and it didn't even bother me that they "raced around the world" and only showed up to bang.  I can respect that.  Its just the fact that they call them "Big Brothers" that irritates me.  Its like they were just itching to see what red neckery they might encourage.

1- Simba/ Nala (Disney)=  There was only one king in the lion pride.  And alpha males don't let any other males breed.  A lion pride could have 2 if not 4 males at max, but that's about it.  So Scar and Mufasa are the only likely candidates and they are biological brothers.  No matter which way you slice it,  those two are related.

What do you think folks?  Did I miss a couple?  Are their any other siblings out there in the world of animation that are suffering from the "Littles Complex" and just don't want to admit it?   Point me to a few flowers in the attic.  I dare ya!

Honorable Mention:
Ryo Asahina/ Suzu Asahina (Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer)=  OH YE GODS!
These two and their bad dubbing!  Even with the bad dubbing, the "platonic Twins"  are all over each other. In game and in anime!  I could say the Smurfs.  99 sons, 1 daughter.  Maybe, but Smurfette and even Sassette are actually golems given life by Gargamel and Papa Smurf.  You could say Brainy and Clumsy, but even then it is a stretch.  These two do not even give the audience a chance to make up a connection.  This anime just flat out says "Yes we fuck, and we love it!"

The movie Bambi, based on an actual book, contains some cousincest.
Faline is the daughter of Aunt Eana, who is sister to Bambi's mom.

Should Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch be on the main list? The posted pages make the romance unambiguous, only stopping short of saying whether they have sex. I'd think they'd therefore get Honorable Mention #2.

Maybe, but the off panel implying stopped by Ultimates 3, and they just flat out say it.  Sure it killed the jokes and the innuendo, but thats what Ultimates series was "death to subtle story telling."

Okay, so they unambiguously have incestual sex. Goes to my point: doesn't stating it outright mean they get an HM at most?

True, but who would take their place? .....  Oh wait I know.  Hold on for update.

All right. <pedant>Now my complaint is that you're not actually ranking these items. Why didn't some of these get renumbered when you knocked that couple out?</pedant>

well because its listed from my own personal tastes.  Much like all the lists I make.  You may not agree (I've had folks call me a douche just because I stated Goten is the most annoying characters in my mind).  I could change it, as you've seen, but to me its as accurate as I wanna be.

How would you number the list?

Bit of a loaded question there. I could hardly have come up with the idea of this list, much less selected candidates, much less ranked them.

But I guess since the criteria for being on the list are blood relations and sexual relations, with one explicit and one not stated, I guess the ranking would combine the degree to which it would be incest with the degree to which incest is implied.

And now, since I'm paranoid about being misunderstood, here are those ranking criteria again:
1. Since we are already certain of one thing, either that the two characters are related or that they're involved, how likely is the other thing to also be true?
2. If this is actual incest, how closely-related are the couple?
(Of course, these are judgment calls, and I intend to defer to you on each.)

(Then again, I don't specifically know whether Mac and Tosh were related. And is there a minimum level of relatedness, since you'll find some repetition if you trace your family tree back 33 generations?)
