What are your favorite songs/bands/music artists?

I'm kinda looking for new music and songs to listen to while I work, so I figured I'd just ask you guys what you like to listen to.

So leave a comment and tell me to what band/artist/music genre you like to listen to and why. Links to songs, on youtube or other sites, are appreciated! :)

Thats really helpful, thats like asking someone about his favorite artist and answering "Leonardo da Vinci".

This is for me to get to know new bands and music artists, not already world famous ones...

My favorite is Megadeth, second to that is Ra. Pretty much any song by either band is amazing.

Pain of Salvation (Swedish progressive rock/metal band), Pendulum (drum-n-bass on up to electronic rock, although they're quite famous), Intronaut (jazz-sludge metal), Textures (jazz-melodic deathmetal), Porcupine Tree (wistful but rocking British prog rock)...

let's see here:

Pain of Salvation, "A Trace of Blood" (you need to listen to the lyrics closely to understand it): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzdXAsU2ADw   (A lot of their songs are sad in a way that metal usually isn't, emotional and about realistic things, not like rawwrr I eat your guts out of your anus!!)

Pendulum, "Girl in the Fire": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCKpzP5SGYw

Intronaut, "Any Port": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHjkpJb5BPM

Textures, "Stream of Consciousness": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abBHAc5FSDM

Porcupine Tree, "Trains": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIM5M6FmnmY

Oh, I forgot! Arjen Lucassen! Ayreon, "Pain", from The Human Equation rock opera: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABdBsmeDbQQ

And more Arjen Lucassen, as Star One, "24 Hours" (guess what movie the song is about): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVInYWs8ZU8

I love metal, and my current favs are Carach Angren (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiJRJ5P5nok), Blazing War Machine (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srurrY_TMas), and Versailles (they're Japanese - and all male) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lv1ZwJt3W0c).

I also LOVE a singer named Joanna Newsom.  Her voice is really kooky, but I still love it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vk4Mr-ipzJ0 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Greq05zAS9g)

I also love metal. Recently, I've been getting into progressive metal, especially djent bands. Djent's an onomatopoeia for a specific sound, and not a genre. It's rather unique to me because it's a sound within metal I've never encountered before (what with some of the ambient-sounding guitar work and such). Every time I listen to the songs, I find something new I didn't hear before. My current faves are:

Periphery (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTuTQCyX_Qo) and (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH091MnyKrk)
Bulb, which is Periphery's guitarist's little side project (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tvf-hFvoTRs)
TesseracT (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0prL6MYzelg)
Vestascension (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwngrKBlmL0)
Chimp Spanner (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72RP8lvHcqc)
