During my last convention, I had enough to drink to kill a small dog, then proceeded to join in on the karaoke, because you aren't allowed to lurk for two hours and not have a song, so I sang Crystal Ball by Styx, and was told by everyone after that I was the best singer of the night.
Many people think that it is just singing along with your favorite song, but music is a performance that requires no less dedication than any other art form. It has a lot to do with matching the level of the background music with the power of your voice and timing, but tonight I listened to one of the songs on the front page of IB and wondered why do people post themselves singing along with something if they can hear that they are not singing the song to recording quality?
Do these people just not care enough to practice or do they not listen to themselves after recording it? I don't mean to just senselessly rag on them, but I wanted to send a message to that fur I mentioned, however, I did not because I believed my advice would result with the fur cussing me out for telling them how to do things, but the only alternative is to sit back and think of them as a worthless singer... *shrugs* Fuck.
It bothers me that in almost every aspect of life people don't want to take your advice, but want to be heard when they complain about that area in which you gave them advice.
