don't beg for money for cancer treatment from someone that can't even bribe a doctor to look at them for suspecting that their own growths are cancerous. if you do expect to be bit! (if you want PM me for details)
Over the years I've heard dozens of sad tales of people wanting to raise money for someone with cancer or some horrible condition. The internet is a great veil for coming up with something in order to get money, because you're removed from it. I'm aware some of it may well be true, but enough instances have proven false that unless I have a solid source I trust on it, I don't give. That's how I am.
I think the only cause I helped take up once was one where some furs lost their house in a fire, and a good friend of mine could confirm that it had happened, as he'd known one of them.

i think i was more miffed that they said there were able to get to a doctor to even get help, so they're better off than i! i've been known to help friends and such, but probably won't give a handout to a stranger from another province. (currently i'm trying to help a guy in town get enough money for surgery on an impacted wisdom tooth)
