Yes, I appreciate every single individual one... I've had interesting conversations with some of you just by saying "thanks" and I love that. This is a congratulatory post because I'm really happy I seem to be making my goal bit by bit! I check the project page every day...
I'm only 20% away! My goal is to have the voting period done by the end of March so the artbook is right on schedule for the end of May.
I'm also holding a raffle here: http://artwithoutprediction.tumblr.com/post/4581244166... I'll be putting the names in (not mine obviously) who commented or reblogged into a random number generator and that person can get their character directly into the artbook by me, with Greek-themed costume and setting.
No. If it's over $10K, they take 20%. Oh, and they have to personally approve you to make a project, you have to apply and write why you're a good pick.
Also it's taken me 2 months to get enough votes and 3K is about 3 months cost of living. Getting the idea... ? Though I'll be taking all that I get and putting it toward pledge rewards, printing the book and paying the artists. I actually have no guarantee of profit and very much a good risk of spending more money than I'll get back. Anthrocon is the only venue I can reasonably take it to this year.
So...
You tell me what the catch is. I think it's having to work really fucking hard and earn it and a huge gamble to do it. People don't just GIVE me money. I mean, come on... yeah I could renege but you know I'm not like that. If something comes up, it will be because I couldn't help it. The artbook is an old dream of mine to make.
