Ranty rant rant

I never liked Glee. It was a horrifying nightmare of that ridiculous rock cover with kids concept from the 90's. It's a twenty year old concept who never went to school and got knocked up by Fox, and grafted to a high school drama or something. I don't like it. There are better ways to expose children to their audio history; ones that pay tribute to who they're really covering.

Case in point: http://www.economist.com/blogs/babbage/2013/01/digital...
Glee is known for creatively covering songs that current high schoolers are probably too young to remember when the songs were released, most famously, songs that are older than they are. Here we have a fanciful and almost tasteful cover of a song with crude language and an infectious beat. It's great how they managed to find a fun way to nod to this popular song in a kid-friendly way.
Only, they didn't. Jonathan Coulton did, and, with the help of his fans, is attempting to prove that they went so far as to lift his audio for the episode, and iTunes for-profit sale.

For the moment, Mister Coulton has re-released his original on iTunes, where profit will go to charity. If you liked the episode, please give your money to charity and not those greedy Fox bastards.  I hope that the cover and original far exceed Fox's "cover" in sales.  It's not really about embarrassing Fox.  They're idiots.  Anyone who wants to see that already has.  Let's just win for great justice.

Oh, and postscript: I may as well relay some of my blog and Facebook stuff to here, if I'm going to try to be more social.
