First off, on my previous journal; perhaps contest was a bad way to describe my intentions here. I don't want people competing, I don't want people to feel bad when I don't draw them something or they didn't 'win'. I do find it important to let people know that I appreciate any effort they have made to comment on my work and I value it very highly.
I'm almost overwhelmed with support I spent almost 2 hours yesterday going through this site and others and individually answering each comment given to me regarding my art. There were a couple of points where I got teary and kind of emotional. Perhaps I am quite different than other artists, but I really appreciate just some recognition from time to time. I really really appreciate the comments. Especially the constructive ones, and even the random squee ones. I think I answered nearly 100 comments between all the sites I have posted this.
On that note, I don't believe I will be answering each one individually but I will read every one of them and appreciate them like you wouldn't believe.
I've never been 'popular', I've never had a lot of comments on my work, hell in the past I was lucky to get five views on an image. I never really wanted to be popular, I don't require a horde of fans that asspat every piece of work. Hell, if I wanted that I would say 'screw the art segregation' and upload my porn here. That's right, I draw porn, I've drawn tonnes of it in the past and it hasn't been uploaded here, why? Because those aren't the kind of watchers and friends that I want to make.
I'm looking for thoughtful, friendly people with a genuine interest in my work (you ;)). It's just very hard to get people's attention some times with all the competition out there.
I want to say a special thank you to my girlfriend blackheartspiral for giving me some props in her journal and leading some of you new folks here. She will also be offering a sketch prize for the 'Contest' so the prize total is now 6! Her work is lovely, so please take a looksie.
She's currently doing some awesome headshot commissions to save up money to come visit me in march. I work a full time job so I have income, but if people are willing to help us out they can commission me as well. Be warned there is a bit of a wait for me since I work so much.
