hu? that makes no sense, you can't post art that has a non furry char in  it? that's bs

The guy is fisting the furry character.

Plus don't forget they're trying to avoid possible legal issues by keeping adult-rated human art off the site. Blame the laws.

hm..... what legal issues, there is nothing illegal about human art prons, furry pron falls under the same laws and guidelines. If anything it's cub art they should be worried about as that could yank their funding and their pay pal donation function.

Remember FA has hosted pics with human prons for years with no legal issues, other sites have as well. The issue is with RL porn not artwork.

I don't think there's anything wrong with any type of art considering it's all fiction. But that doesn't stop some countries treating it as if it was real, so if you show a human with an animal-like creature, that could be considered bestiality and illegal (for example). When your dealing with furry on furry artwork, then it's just animals having sex and there's no laws against that.

But don't forget that non-sexual human art is completely allowed on Inkbunny. They just can't allow people to cross that line, unfortunately. Again, blame the laws (and people who think art is real). Hopefully this made some sense of the issue, please don't get upset at Inkbunny or it's staff. =x

but only in the country  the server is located, unless inkbunny is located outside the US those laws do not apply.

I'm not really an expert on it, but I think it's a bit more complicated than that. Everything on this server has to conform with the country's laws. But at the same time, users are required to observe their own laws as well, because what's legal in the country where the server is located may not be what's legal in the country you're trying to view the content on the server. =x It's a big mess, I tell you. v_v Again, I'm not an expert, but last I heard that's why they're being cautious about certain types of content.

you made the point yourself, it's up to the user not the server operator to  comply with local laws.

logical does not equal legal

the law is a complicated mess of selfish politics
AishaLove

except it literally is a legal issue, and the fact is it's up to you to follow your local laws, not the server operator, the server operator is only subject to his/her local laws and that of the location of the server physically, not it's users.

... and any international laws said country upholds as a political agreement with another country, which is where the problems set in.

Furthermore, if this site's hosted in the U.S., they are very likely to be tried for thought crimes if they allow the hosting of adult human-orientated artwork, because such artwork will be treated as though it were real pornography, which is a problem with human/furry which idiots will treat as bestiality. (Ergo my statement that logical is not legal.)

They can't allow human-only adult artwork while banning human/furry adult artwork, because this will cause a shitstorm due to "bias". Most people will also mistakenly think that since human OR furry is allowed, human AND furry is allowed, undermining the entire point.
AishaLove

Except FA and many other us based sites don't have those issues with human oriented artwork.

What are these other US-based sites? Are they ones that anyone has ever heard of? Most people aren't even aware of FurAffinity.

It's their own risk if they're going to do it. Maybe it won't be a problem? Maybe it will when somebody actually gives a damn about FurAffinity enough to investigate it?

Whatever the case, Inkbunny's service provider doesn't allow them to do it, and that's that. A small price to pay for the dramatic superiority to FurAffinity.

XD everyone including tv news has heard of FA, FA has had legal issues before over cub, and even turned in it's own users for child pornography issues ext.. FA is if anything very much on the ball about the laws.

Do you have a source proving any of this?

I find it amusing that FurAffinity would get in trouble for "cub". Shota and loli maybe.

It's mostly the cases where people have been caught with RL child porn and have had the FA staff questioned, also things the struggle FA had to keep cub porn on the site (legal issues explained in great detail on the forums), CSI make FA well known.

FA only took cub pron off the site because their donation funding source AlertPay yanked their service.

This is all well known to anyone who has kept up with FA over the years. I know I'm not giving specifics, but I'm not interested in doing all that research.

It should make sense that people with RL child porn are also going to like cub art and stuff.

What doesn't make sense is assuming that it also goes the other way around, which is usually what the law does

Now, if Inkbunny itself got to make the choice, it'd probably let it fly. But like FurAffinity and its AlertPay, Inkbunny has other parties supporting it (in particular, their ISP and an online payment service which is PROBABLY not AlertPay), so it's not entirely their choice
AishaLove

your missing the point, it's all legal. That's what I'm saying.
devilishimmorality

Pay attention.

Inkbunny has to follow the demands of its ISP and its Internet payment service, regardless of whether those demands have anything to do with the law.

If the ISP or the payment service disliked cub art, then they would threaten to pull their support from Inkbunny (or FurAffinity, hint hint) if they did not cease hosting the material in question, despite it being perfectly legal to do so.

So if the ISP or payment service, for whatever reason, do not want human adult art on the server but are okay with furry, then Inkbunny can't host any human adult art without having a critical service threatened.

In short: It was not solely because of the law that FurAffinity cannot host cub art. It is not solely because of the law that Inkbunny cannot host adult human art. If any service that they require has any sort of bias against it - whether they think content is illegal, or whether they are simply repulsed - they can drop their service. Whether this content is illegal has nothing to do with it.

but that's why I was asking, all you  had to do was say "their isp likely has such restrictions" I just summed it all up for you right there.

no need for a new even longer essay each response,  I have not even been reading all your saying.

It's too bad. If you had you might have learned something.

It looks longer each time because the comments get squished horizontally and get taller.

I already know all your saying it's nothing new. All you had to say was "it's likely their ISP" or something like that.

Human art is fine as long as it is not sexual (in this case, I checked with the admins and "sexual" means anything showing genitals or in an obvious sexual situation, mild nudity with some good ol' tits and ass is fine).  That is a fairly recent (a few months ago) change, it used to be just no humans allowed at all.
Furry art, just about anything goes here, but mixing furry and humans for porn is a no no.
