How old are you?
Because if you're close to being an adult and can prove you're capable of looking after yourself, then in some cases they can make an exception.

You learn.
I know someone a lot worse that gets a social worker checking up on him a few times a week.

Maybe you could get something like that?

A group home.... yes I must too ask how old are you... and I'm certain there is other alternatives out there. Many autistic adults manage to make it on their own despite what people think. I know some who work and live on their own with a bit of assistance. Maybe you should talk to whoever is over seeing your case. Adult group-homes are different than Child/Youth group homes... and I'm assuming you're just an adult who has difficulties in life since this site is for adults.

Hopefully they can help you with other options.

Ah alright well, you know what hun, it's good that you're able to acknowledge that. Some people aren't even able to. It is unfortunate though that this is the result and I am sorry to hear that your family isn't more supportive... They really should be and they should have some consideration about what they are doing...

However you know what there are some good things about adult grouphomes, as I said before... they are different from youth/children and you end up suffering more abuse sometimes in those ones. But adult grouphomes you can have fun outings like bowling and stuff and learn independance and from there probably get a chance to go out on your own with a good support system. Not everyone is in Adult grouphomes forever. I know at one point people were thinking of putting me in one because of my problems so I could be watched, but i proved that I could make it on my own and as young as I am mentally sometimes... I grew the maturity to be able to pay my own bills, go grocery shopping and such. If you're able to survive the bare minimum, it doesn't really matter how "young" you are.

*hugs* i really hope something good or at least fun can come out of this for you at first it will be tough and ya you wont be able to come on sites like this but it could only better you as a person. You're really strong even though you're sheltered :D
