Okay, I must say that I loved 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors and I figured I would love VLR as well. So far, it hasn't disappointed at all, I really love it, the characters are very well done and the plot keeps pushing me on. There was one unexpected though, I really loved the dynamics involving Zero III, an AI controlled rabbit that not only explains the game, but makes rabbit puns and insults the players at the same time. You have to see it in action though, so I'm linking to the two vids below from an play through, gives you an bit of an idea. I hope you all enjoy them and if so, definitely check out these two games, they may play more like novels but they are very addictive.
