Does anyone remember one of those space shuttle explosions? One of those landed in Toledo Bend Lake, which is where all of Sabine Parish get their water supply for drinking, washing dishes, and bathing. Specifically, the fuel tank - which I don't think was ever recovered from the sunken wreckage.
So guess what? Toledo Bend Lake's water is irradiated. It's been radioactive like this for years now - and a lot of people drink from it. Apparently, it gives an increased chance for cancer... And quite frankly, I'm surprised no one's started glowing and stuff from consuming it!
Living in this place is becoming more and more of a health hazard. And quite frankly, I'm becoming more and more reluctant to live here...
