Considering Swapping to Linux BUT..

by
I used a cracked Paint Tool Sai 2 since 2015 or so and I.. really don't want to spend several days transferring all my Sai2 art files to a psd or whatever so I am kinda.. unsure what I want to do. I know Paint Tool Sai 2 is like.. $60 something and is free to use after buying but yeah. =w=

Reason why I want to move to Linux permanently is because I am tired of Windows' bullshit all the time. Wanting something far less bloated and not GenAi-friendly. x3

what you can do is leave Windows on your computer but just allot like 30gb to it, and give the rest of your hard drive to Linux.
this way, if whatever drawing applications you're wanting to use or your drawing pad hardware doesn't work out or you need time to adjust, you can just boot into Windows at anytime. or you could just use Windows to draw on all the time and when you're done, boot into Linux for all the rest of your computer usage.

Well, I do want to move away from Windows completely, to be honest. I tried getting my PTS2 to work on Linux but just will not, it will ALMOST work but just refuses to detect pen pressure.

Microsoft will screw up your master boot record and uefi on occasion if you dual boot. Not recommended unless you’re really comfortable messing around with critical files, or do to want to deal with MS still mucking things up

I mean, I removed Windows entirely when I did this last time.

Does the pressure sensetivity work in other apps?

It does.

Strange. Do you run sai through wine or some other way?

I ran Sai through Lutrus, Bottles and Wine, we tried to get it to work for hours with zero luck >w>;

I'd check and see if sai can open and save in the program bottles (that's the easy way to use wine). And if it works then instead of converting all the sai2 files to psd at once I'd just open and resave them whenever I needed to do something with my old projects.

We did, spent 5-6 hours trying multiple ways to get Paint Tool Sai 2 to work but it would not. >w>;;

Paint tool will work in a virtual machine but it has input lag.

Hay there use lutris for windows programs it's easy to use I recommend bazzite os it's a gamer centered os it has a desktop mode it works well! Easy to setup I recommend testing out the os first to see if you like it then you can switch fully if you fill comfortable

BTW if you have a gog account use the heroic games launcher it works well
