A Light That Flickers Out

Today, the world dimmed a little. Catherine O’Hara—legendary actress, comedy icon, and the woman who made us laugh until our ribs ached—has passed away at the age of 71.

It’s strange how news like this hits. One moment, you’re scrolling, half-distracted, and the next, your breath catches because *someone who mattered* is just… gone. Catherine was more than Moira Rose, more than Delia Deetz, more than the countless characters she brought to life with that razor-sharp wit. She was a force—unapologetically weird, fiercely talented, and endlessly kind to those who adored her work.

The tributes will flood in (as they should). The *Schitt’s Creek* cast will mourn their matriarch. Tim Burton will say something poetic about her haunting charm. And the rest of us? We’ll rewatch *Home Alone* for the millionth time, laugh through the ache, and realize—again—how rare it is to find someone who could make absurdity feel like home.

Rest easy, Catherine. Thanks for the chaos, the glamour, and the heart. The world’s a little less bright without you.
