Not to spoil the moment but I'm an extreme worrywart: do you have IRL support you can reach out to if the new hormone balance temporarily fucks with your brain chemistry?
It's my understanding that especially the first week your mood might suffer dramatically if you're unlucky, and that it may take up to a month to stabilize. You're probably aware of it, still thought I should mention it.

I have the organization I got them from (FolxHealth), but I also have experience with meds that have messed with my brain function in the past. I used to be on some dangerous meds during those dark times in the 90s and early 2000s when it was chic to stuff children full of dangerous dosages of experimental pills. In my case one of the ones I know I was on was Paxil, over seven times the safe and legal dosage. Imagine what the Berserk Pack in Doom does to your brain. That was me on the cusp of and during puberty. And then I was taken off them cold turkey because they were "too weak" and put on something even more dangerous before my mom got tired of all the "we're increasing the dosage" meeting with the "therapist" and took me off them cold turkey again.
Needless to say, I have experience with meds that alter your brain chemistry, and at least now I'm not dealing with a level of dosage that is designed to kill you.

He makes a good point make sure you monitor yourself for signs of rejection sometimes your body will have a very averse reaction to hrt sometimes its not even the hormones but the delivery method. Just keep an eye on it.

Holy fuck, that's messed up. I'm quite happy with my current SSRI, but there my doctor and I were very careful with increasing/ decreasing dose every time I tried something new. Your childhood 'therapist' sounds like the equivalent of a butcher practicing surgery.
OK, in comparison to that I'm sure that any hormone induced temporary mood changes will be a breeze :P
