Worse than FA, FA has numbers, earns enough money to keep the lights on and is liked by the people who use it. SF is worse now, has less numbers, bleeds money, has a worse UI, less features, a trolling problem with useless mods and is more buggy. No shouts, no chat, no votes, the story layout is worse then FA's and that is saying something, the comments are packed into the right side like a bad twitter copy and the PM's look like something from 1990's. They were told for 2 years during the beta that SFX was crap and the fact most people preferred the old site still didn't stop them forcing SFX on people. They did the same thing in 2009 with SF 1.0 and the site was so buggy and hated they wrote it off after only 6 months to start work on SF 2.0 and 18 months later only 2 years into SF 1.0 service life it was junked. They won't admit they fucked up while brushing it off that the first SF site somehow reached it's end after only 2 years. They spent longer than that making SF 1,0. SF 2.0 has been up about 14 years now and was loved despite the trolling and poor staff.

I haven't cared for SF since 1.0 and haven't used it much in the past 14 years (and almost not at all after the cubpocalypse). 2.0 completely tanked my view count (90% drop) and is why I ended up moving my main to IB in the first place. I did make a secondary account on SF about 2 years ago which is why I was even checking the site, but it appears to be too much of a hassle to bother posting on it anymore.

2.0 was half decent but they lost the trust and respect of people with 1.0 and they never got it back. SFX is worse then 1.0 as even that site they started to replace after only been live 6 months had a chat, a half decent story reader, votes, journals, shouts and the UI was a mess but not as bad as SFX. Now they've repeated their mistake of 1.0 with SFX. Allowing cub and the better story reader was the only two advantages SF had over FA and now they don't have either. I just wish IB would allow human stuff on the site as no one would use SF as IB is better designed and better managed. Even FA wouldn't be able to match that.

I probably would have liked 2.0 more if I hadn't felt like the whole thing was designed to screw me in particular. I had reached out to a handful of followers and none of them had been aware I had posted anything at all, they weren't getting notifications. Then I put in a support ticket about that issue and got Toumal who basically told me it was my fault.

I don't think they've changed their policy on cub.
Pretty much all that's left is FA and IB. That 6-7 month shutdown didn't help SF at all, so I can't imagine how they're going to recover. Especially if what they ultimately decided to do is that broken. I tried going into the "help" section and it's completely barren.

wouldent matter much if they HAD IB serves our needs and once kammy's alternative is live will have two hopefuly viable options (compitition is allways good and keeps people honest...useualy) so will have more choice...so not sure what sofurry is trying to do here...catch the people who are sick of FA or banned there maybe? Weasil kinda does that though ive not herd great stuff about there admins either.

he is makeing a cub friendly IB alternative, I dont know to much about how it will be run or maintained or what features it will have but It wont allow AI so theres that i suppose XD I think it's got a couple newer features then IB. I wish him luck and I will absolutely try the site out, but i am very fond of IB so. will see ^^
