No, this was a general observation about people being dicks then surprised when people are dicks right back.

You'd think that, but you'd be surprised how many assholes on this site are actually super popular. Or, hell, how many assholes are super popular offline, too.

It's usually the other way around, actually. While it's a fair assumption that most were assholes to start with, the popularity some people have not only gives them an inflated sense of self worth, but affords them some amount of protection from the repercussions of them being assholes to people. Just look at the list of popular artists who said 'If you voted for Trump, you don't deserve to see my art', and when people tried to point out how much of a dick opinion that was, just blocked loads of people, yet they are still popular due to the complacency of your average person. Most people never think they'd get blocked for just their opinion or views, so they don't call out the assholes when it happens to other people.

And to be fair, this does go both ways, just that that was a very clear example of this happening.

No, that was 100% the correct position and correct move, and everyone saying 'it's just my opinion, man' is being a useful fool at best, or deliberately gaslighting at worse. It's, in fact, very healthy to set boundaries. No one needs toxic shits like that in their lives, and if you give power to the kind of ghouls who would see your favorite artists censored or told to face the wall then you don't deserve to enjoy anything.

Oh, look! I've told you this before, and yet you continue to parade around with your head up your ass. Suffice it to say this sense of entitlement you have toward other people's work isn't mature or healthy. As this very journal says; if you're an asshole people tend to not like you. They may display this dislike by refusing you service. If you have a problem with that maybe stop supporting fascist ghouls?
