Unless otherwise specified on the ref page, I am allowing anybody to use my characters for whatever they please. Though I encourage anybody to ask me about it or let me know what they're planning for them, it's certainly not required.
To be clear, you can use them in any illustrations, stories or other project you please. They can be in the background or a main character. They can be a part of any scenario interacting with anybody. Their personality could be anything you want it to be. You can even modify the character physically if it suits you. Age-up, age-down, gender-bending, make them fat, put them in a wheelchair, whatever; it's all up to you.
Just credit me as owner of the original character & we're square.
