Writing help & tips/rant

Hi y’all! This goes out to anyone who’s got any advice or tips for writing smutty stories. I’ve got a new story I’m working on, a multi part piece, but god am I struggling with motivation. I’m always wanting to write, but when I sit down to actually do it, it feels like half the time my mind goes blank, and whatever words I do put down just don’t sound good. Ugh! I just wanna write things both I myself and others can enjoy, why’s it gotta be so difficult >w< share your process, if you’re comfortable doing so.

i think, just having a rough outline of what you wanna do, how you want the story to go, and how the characaters' personalities are like is really good! just write out the basic framework of the whole thing, and take inspiration on the characters on how they'd act on the side. have a word doc like literally on your phone or second monitor or some such and tab to it whenever you feel like you need some more inspiration!

Thank you! Good idea, making somewhat of an outline. I’ve always been one to kinda let the story tell itself to me, but outlining is definitely more organized. I’ll give it a shot!

yeeh~ i mean, not that i'm a very prolific writer, but from the few stories I've done (and the many many rps) I just feel like having a basic framework of how you want the scene to go is just very helpful!

Heyo!! Don't worry about that because it's pretty normal to stay looking at the screen like a souless creature, It happens to me all the time.

Regarding tips for getting your writing on track:

- First of all, read. Always read like 5 hours per day but, if you can't, read as much as you can.
- You may need a more disciplined structure: Try to create a framework that will help you organize your ideas in the course of the story. By example:

                   Title
            Characters and place introduction
            Triggering event
            Porn scene
            Story closing

- Try to condition your mind to learn that it's time to write: X time of the day, with X beverage, with X music, in X room, without the cellphone around, without social media open.

- And finally, even if it is frustrating to sit down and write little or nothing, keep sitting down every day.

That's all I can tell you, I hope it's helpful. <3

Hey! Thank you for that, I’m working on the discipline part with moderate success these days, some better than others, but I definitely need to up my reading. I’ll have to check out some of your stories!

You can force yourself to write. Just let your fingers hammer the keyboard and shape the story into an approximate shape, but you know it's bad, you know it's not perfect, but you do it anyway.
Then try and let it rest for a few days. Then return and do the "chore" of cleaning it up, adding extra sentences and paragraphs, rewrite a bit here and there. As long as you keep at it, 500-1000-1500 words pr sitdown, you will soon have a full and proper story!

Errr, not that that's how my process is usually, but sometimes that's how it goes, and every keystroke is a goddamn herculean task XD

has it right, remove distractions. It's so easy to "get bored" and "just check something else" and then the urge to write just vanishes into thin air!
