Why I Add a Signature to My AI-Generated Works

The reason I include a signature on my AI-generated images isn’t about claiming copyright (only Alisia is copyrighted—I pay for that). It’s a practical choice: the signature helps me track where my generations are published and discourages exact duplication.
To replicate an identical image, you’d need the same seed, prompt, and settings—all of which I make publicly available with each post. So yes, the images are free to use, but if you want a version without the prompter’s signature, you’ll need to generate it yourself using an AI tool.
My goal isn’t to restrict usage or assert ownership—it’s simply to monitor distribution and maintain traceability.
— This is in response to a recent comment asking why I include a signature.

For those curious, here’s a quick breakdown of the key terms:
Model: This is the AI system itself—the engine that generates images based on your instructions. Different models have different capabilities, styles, and training data.
Prompt: This is the text input you give to the model. It describes what you want to generate (e.g., “a fox in a forest at sunset”). The more detailed and precise the prompt, the more accurate the result.
Seed: Think of this as a random starting point. If you use the same seed, prompt, and settings, you’ll get the exact same image again. Changing the seed gives you a variation, even with the same prompt.

These elements together define how an AI-generated image is created. Sharing them helps others understand the process—and even recreate it if they want!
