Hey all, Silver here! Yesh, I'm still alive.. Hang on. *Checks self* at least mostly, in part, in a way, indirectly. Otherwise! I have a quicky question for you guys and I know it's a touch controversial.
I thought about setting up a discord, just to post some AI works of the characters from my stories. It would be more or less just character references so you guys could finally have a visual idea of what they'd look like, with the odd 18+ image thrown in.
I have thought about commissioning, but to be honest, like a lot of us, I'm really struggling financially. To do all the characters, or scenes I'd love to do would be well over $2000 and I gotta be honest, I ain't got it by a long shot. Money's so tight, I can't afford to support artists I genuinely like on patreon or subscribestar cause it's just not there. So AI does present me with a small path to do so.
I wanna add that this wouldn't be 100% AI images, I do have some... well mediocre ability to draw, and could use the AI models as a base, clean it up, recolor or resketch parts and then post as AI assisted.
I know it's a touchy subject because AI is having a major impact on genuine artists and I agree with a lot of the points they make. That said, the price for commissions is just too steep, even among the most reasonable artists and I feel if it's in moderation and I'm not flooding IB with it, it might be ok for the odd pic just to go along with the story on Discord.
Anyway, I'd welcome discussion below. Again, nothing would get posted on IB, but rather on a discord I'd setup for viewing only and having a general chat page. I'd love to hear your thoughts down below, so feel free to toss in your two cents, or twenty bucks lol. =P
Either way, I hope you guys are all doing well, and while I know the content from my page has dried up, I do still write here an there. There might even be a project or two in the pipeline now :P Take care!! =D
