Art pet peeve rant 1 of ?

I don't like to talk about my frustrations with art much, (except in private. My close friends have had to put up with me shitting on the majority of the art I see >.> Sorry about that. Least I don't feel so bad when I shit on an AI piece though.)

This is one of the biggest ones for me. The reason I love furry porn so much is... the fur! I like to imagine how the character feels. I like to imagine how pressing up against that fluffy body feels, that soft, sensory-stimulating, dopamine-inducing, beautiful fur... while being wrecked by a needy cock. It's similar with scalies. A rough texture on the skin can make the difference between meh and HNNG! Whether fur or scales, it's also stimulating to me to imagine how that pelvis feels slapping against my butt.

However... I often come across artists with two different styles for porn and not. The first style is very detailed, beautiful fur or scale texture, but either null or fully clothed. The other is sexy porn, but with VERY little detail, looking mostly like colored skin. Both done by the same artist! These particular artists never ever seem to combine the two.

WHY!! WHY CAN'T I HAVE BOTH FUR AND COCK AT THE SAME TIME!!! DX WHY IS IT ALWAYS ONE OR THE OTHER!!

I think this may be of what makes for appealing art.

Porn is easy to make appealing, it's porn. It appeals to a basic instinct. But most people who do it do it for money, and most customers want the porn part primarily and are less interested in the intricately detailed fur except for the rare special piece. Porn is sort of a consumable item, most of it isn't the sort of picture you'd hang on the wall as it were, so most customers won't spend more than necessary.

If you don't do porn though, you'll have to get people's interest in some other way. The porn "cheat" isn't available, so I think what remains is making the image as pretty as possible instead.

If you want everything for cheap, that's where you have AI. AI will render tons of beautiful fluff for the same price it does anything else.

That's pretty much the only thing that's keeping AI porn of interest to me, really, though I've even seen the same pattern in that from many AI accounts as well, but otherwise it does fill the void left by mass-produced art.

I've been peeved but used to this for about six years now but its probably a process hold-over from the artists who double in humans/hentai, anime porn n such. Still, I see a lot of sweaty colored skin on furries, and it isn't as titilatting, I too looove fur, love love love!

Thing is, I'm not talking simply about artists who deal only in this style. It's less interesting to me, but at least it's consistent. I'm talking about the artists who really draw or render beautiful fur, but then just don't for some reason when they draw porn.

Also yeah the sweat thing is another peeve of mine, though I know some are into it. Doesn't help that wetness or cum diminishes the imagined sensations of the fur.

hehe ya i've done up a whole thing about using img to img to up-detail drawings.

and ya i hate it when someone draws furry art of a fur barring anthro and then adds shiny marks like there made of something reflective..

or start talking about sweat / drawing it in a non emotiv fashion.

Even taking anthropamorphic evolution the chanses that sweat glands would follow over without removing the fur is slim to none.

Think of all the bacteria that would build up over even a single day.
