the way discord log in works, is there is a session token generated everytime you authenticate. But this token isn't tied to an IP, MAC, or even a specific machine. So if someone somehow grabs the token, they can use discord as if they are you, using your current session. There's a number of other flaws in how they do it, but that's the biggest one.
Never click suspicious links from discord, and always hover over the link to see if it's spoofed (if the link says it's to youtube, but the tooltip says "https://suspicious.domain.idiot"; xD

Discord's really shit the bed of late, they have scam-waves pop up every once a while but this one was truly dire in how many people I know got their accounts hacked.
We need to stop using Discord and find other platforms that have actual security, a friend of mine was hacked and not even the 2FA thing worked to stop it, it's a garbage program pretending to be a social media hub that won't even do shit about a scam that's been running around 2 years that they'd be fully aware of, if all their services weren't automated crap.
