Some bad news

by
I had surgery because my right finger was severed. The surgery went well, but I hope it can go back to how it was before.
It's my first time getting anesthesia, and I completely lost sensation in my right arm. It's a strange feeling

Please take care of yourselves too.

I assume they also used a nerve block, that wouldn't help with the lost sensation.  Having had sort of same thing, I know where you are coming from.  Glad to hear surgery went well and hope for a speedy recovery xx

Anaesthesia is spooky. Especially if you're atypical. I don't generally respond to it 2_2

I will avoid needing major surgery as much as possible because best case scenario, I have enough reduced sensation not to be traumatized.

Wow that sounds rough. I've heard reattaching fingers usually actually goes quite well though, so hopefully it heals back to being as good as before!

It really depends how fast they put the severed finger to ice and how fast they reattached it.

Best of luck!  I cut the entire side of my finger off down to the bone about 8 years ago.  But it's basically back to normal.  Just a slight scar and lack of the hyper flexibility I usually have.

No problem, if there's one thing I've learned its to watch you fingers around kitchen equipment.  I once got what the doctors called a "partial amputation" of my finger tip from the very heavy stainless steel doors of a dish washing machine
