Question for extra art types

by
I would like to know if it's a good idea to start an alt for specific topics? I want to cover bara (muscular) characters but unsure if it's going to make my art too broad?

I say you may as well put it on main, it's not too big a departure, if that's what you're worried about, and splitting yourself into more than one account ultimately means halving your output. You may have as many accounts separated for different things, but at the end of the day, you're still one person.

Hi Quinn thanks so much. That gives me the confidence in one of pictures that I have planned. That sounds very true about splitting the output, I should only consider doing if I'm sure I could keep up an output like that. I think my worry was that I always wanted to be a flexible artist, but I started to think about things in the future that I want to try, like a Patreon. If I were to do something like a Patreon I might need to pick a lane/few lanes regarding characters if I were to ask "What character would you like to see?".

Anytime, dude, and if you wanna be the flexible artist you wanna be, do the new things to stay flexible. You shouldn't have to force yourself into thinking about putting yourself in a box just for a Patreon. That definitely will make you wanna do it because the name of the game for a Patreon is consistency, but I see people succeed with those being how one accesses a series or other such constantly updated project, not just dedicating it, and by extension, your being, to a single genre or vibe of what you might feel is "expected" of you.

Thank you, it's so nice to have discussions about art! I'll try to keep this in mind. At least I'll try to not worry about looking "less appealing" as a result of trying different things. I'd be willing to cover a variety with consistency if people don't mind it.

Hey, I don't blame you, that's the best thing one could ask for, here, especially if they're paid to keep doing a wide enough variety without marrying an idea or theme. That's basically an artist's win condition.

That really sounds so cool and I have kept that ideal in mind as I ping ponged between things to establish that variety. I'm doing what I like so far at least and getting better! I have a goal to interest someone in a commission to draw someone's favorite character or open a patreon. I really appreciate your words and your support!
