I know that I don’t have a set release schedule or anything, but I just wanted to make a post updating you all on the next story. It’s mostly written, but I’m feeling like it might need to get some serious revision. I’ve been trying to discovery write my characters and it’s worked pretty well so far, but this next story is a little more… messy? It has themes of orientation play and a bi-romantic person who is trying to make a relationship work, and I want to make sure that I represent that well. I know that a lot of people, myself included, often just skip to the sex, but since Briarheart is an experiment for me to practice writing, I feel it necessary to take this back to the drawing board a bit. I want my characters to feel like more than bodies on screen because I do think that the context and emotions surrounding a sex scene can dramatically elevate it. It’s also hard for me to write from the perspective of someone who is homosexual, but bi-romantic since that is very much outside of my lived experience. I also feel hesitant about writing any scenes featuring male gay sex because I have read and seen very little gay porn and don’t think that I could create a good scene because of my general lack of interest in it.
Anyway. I’ll probably take a week to finish writing and then revising this next story. After that I have two more ideas for Briarheart stories that I’d like to write. We’ll see if any more ideas come up over the course of writing them. While I don’t officially take requests, any suggestions regarding themes, sexual or otherwise, would be great. Also any species pairings. I’m not really interested in writing anything with humans fyi.
