For a long time I've struggled with coloring my own pieces. It was because my imagination naturally worked in monochrome. For that reason, digital work has been a godsend; I can try colors without committing to them, just to see if they would look good.
Having this avenue to color, I started to study color theory, and think harder about my color choices and how to blend them. Perhaps all that thinking about color is what caused it, because last night I had a dream with bright, vibrant colors.
It happened during a sleep paralysis episode, something I have with unfortunate frequency. But the blues, the greens, and the fuchsias in it were so stunning that it took my mind off of the fear of being unable to move.
I've never had a dream with color before. I'm not sure if it means anything, but I hope it might mean my imagination is adapting. If I could imagine in color it could help me improve my art.
