- The red ranger become an adventurer in another world : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Red_Ranger_Becomes_an... As a super sentai and power rangers fan (you'll find a super sentai review later in this journal), the concept of a super sentai hero ending in a D&D like environment was super appealing (amusingly enough, I read a couple decades ago an article in a rpg magazine using the same concept). It was really silly and amusing. The fact the heroes are based on band-aids and relationships still work as a sentai, and there is a lot of great world-building and funny moments. I loved it. 4.5 barks out of 5
- Predator : killer of killers : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Predator:_Killer_of_Killers Since the original two Predators movies, I have been following the franchise sparingly. I haven't seen prey, for what I read about it didn't interest me and the two AvP movies haven't delivered on what I hoped (but Aliens Earth is delivering so far on it) but this one seemed to be more what I expected. And it did. It is really nicely made, really interesting and give some good world building. 3.75 barks out of 5
- Reborn as a vending machine, I now wander the dungeon : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reborn_as_a_Vending_Machi... The concept of a guy being reincarnated as a vending machine and then ending in a D&D like universe was too silly for me to not try (hey, see up for another izekai ;-) ) but i thought it would have a hard time keeping the concept going for long. But we are an handful of episodes in season 2 (but this review is of S1) and it's still going strong. I really enjoyed the silliness (i want to see the bear as a caregiver and the 4 Tasmanian devils in diapers too) and the world building. It has a lot of original ideas and humour. 4.5 barks out of 5
- Belfort & Lupin : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belfort_%26_Lupin A lot of people have been asking me about this tv show when it was first announced, but I didn't really looked it up until recently. It is beautiful, really nicely animated, all characters are super cute and it's a really nice kid show and it has a little historic blurb at the end explaining how was the lives back then. As a wolf, I always would like an orphan wolf pup, but it is good by itself. The main problems I have with the series are the sometimes weak and that it shows the court of the french kings are really nice place, forgetting all the arbitrary suffering it created (for a french show, that is surprising). 3.25 barks out of 5
- Fantastic 4 : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fantastic_Four:_First... After the awful previous movie and, while I enjoyed the campy duology that precedes it, nothing really good on cinema screens for Marvel's first family, this movie changes things. Skipping over the origin story, as they assume that people know enough that giving you the basis and their first steps into learning their powers will be enough, and for me it worked. That let us go onto a deeper story with more interesting challenges and in depths relationships. It was really nice and fun, I loved the alternate world based on the 60's but with more advanced technologies than ours. It is quite an interesting worldbuilding and serve the characters really well. 4.25 barks out of 5
- Go go loser rangers (season 2) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go!_Go!_Loser_Ranger! I know I made a review of this season, but Disney messed up the season release so much, adding episodes at the end of season 1 at various moments, so I thought I watched them all and such... only to discover I was missing the last 3 episodes which is the finale. So the finale battle deliver on a really nice battle, with challenges and good actions. It close all the plots (to an extent) but as I said before, the second season feel rushed and damn, this shows here. Still a good show. 4.25 barks out of 5
- Transformers Earthspark (season 3) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transformers:_EarthSpark Earthspark has been a mix bunch in general, with some episodes being quite good and others not so much. Targeting a younger generation and having much more human characters than usual while taking a totally different setting than the usual Decepticon / Autobot war, the general story works pretty well and there is some really original ideas that are really enjoyable. I have really enjoyable some of the new characters and some of their most wild ideas, while also adding some new stuff to transformers mythos. It doesn't have great toys, sadly, due to the younger audience, but still. 3.75 barks out of 5
- Austin powers (franchise) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin_Powers So, I was spending a week-end at a friend's place and we watched Austin Powers 2 & 3, since I had never seen any of those movies before. Since they had watched the first movie before I arrived, I watched it once I got home. I never touched this franchise before because of all the memes going on, which made me think nothing in it would be of interest to me (especially this horrible this is shit austin one) but it proven different. While I find that many jokes aren't funny to me or last too long (the peeing statue for example) it is in general silly and fun. I enjoyed it overall and I can see why some people really love it. 3 barks out of 5 in general (sadly, too many overly long jokes).
- Love, death and robots (season 4) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Love,_Death_%26_R... I was not expected a return of this show, since the last episodes date back 2022, so much i feared I missed a season in between, but no, it was a surprise come-back. And they did a great job there, since it's really good and really funny (the other large thing, the prequel to the robots episodes that are in each other season, is hilarious). As an anthology, not everything was to my taste (400 boys) while others are too short (smart appliances, stupid owners) but in general it is a really enjoyable moment. 4 barks out of 5
- Kung Fury: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kung_Fury This really silly short movie is so funny. It's hard to believe how silly it goes. It's all over the place, totally act straight in this comical way. It's really worth watching, too bad the sequel is blocked... 4.25 barks out of 5
- The equalizer : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Equalizer_(film) A nice thriller, with a really good built-up but once the preparation are finished, it is a by the numbers movie. Still entertaining. 3 barks out of 5
- Abarangers : https://powerrangers.fandom.com/wiki/Bakuryu_Sentai_Aba... Continuing travelling back in time, I have now reached 2003 super sentai, Abarangers, which gave us Dino Thunder which I love (RIP Tommy Oliver's actor). Age is again a problem, and will be more and more as I keep going back (I don't know how long I'll be able to keep going as the old style writing and special effects grate me too much). Again, the bad guy is linked to the destruction of the dinosaurs, here being part of the meteor who extinguished them (which means it was likely summoned by one of the later bad guys, either from the boukengers or the later dinosaur sentai's enemies), but from there is a really weird stuff. But it works, just weighed down by the old age. There is also a 20th anniversary story and it's really good to see that the stories of those characters keep going in a shared universe. 3.75 barks out of 5
- Superman (2025) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superman_(2025_film) I wasn't eager to watch this movie, for man of steel killed all of my interests in the DC movies (also, I'm a Marvel guy, outside of Batman, most DC comics and such aren't great stories to me), and of course, Batman vs superman was one of the worst movies I ever seen with really little to excuse all the BS going on there. Going back to an hopeful superman, which actually care about saving people was really good. There is also a lot of named characters there, but they are all in the story organically and it works out. It's a nice movie, not really anything I would really remember, but nice enough. 3.25 barks out of 5
- Kill lupercal : https://www.imdb.com/fr/title/tt37276143/ A sadly really short little mini-series, it shows the dark future of WH30K and how the titans works. It's really short but intense and really capture the past of WH40K. I can't really say much as it is really short and really linked to the universe, but good. 3.25 barks out of 5
