FurFright/Frankenstorm/Ponies

by
I'm afraid I won't be at Furfright this year.  Due to lots of stuff going on I decided to pass on the con again.  There's a big storm headed for the Northeast so that was probably a good decision.

However, I will be posting the Nightmare Night pony fic that's been sitting around unfinished for more than a year.  There are four parts total and part one is posted already.  I meant to do three parts but the third ran a bit long so I split off a fourth part for the final conclusion with some additional material on the end.  The whole thing will be posted here really really soon and on FiMFic after.

The first two parts were written after season one and before season two but edited later.  The rest was written starting this summer and incorporates new stuff from the second season.  It's a bit grimdark and pretty weird but no 'cupcakes'.

By "big storm headed for the Northeast", you mean Hurricane Sandy.  I too live in the Northeast US, and this has been all over the local news.  I work in a supermarket and last year's panic over the hurricane from last year cleaned out the store pretty good.  If the hype reaches anything like last year's level, then we're going to have one very empty bread aisle again...

With the way the news has been hyping it up it seems like it could go that way. I mean I have read more of "This storm will be bad." more than when Isabel was churning in the ocean.. last year I believe now.

With the big low and high where they are the storm should be steered onshore and it's really big.  There's also a full moon so the coasts are looking to get hit by big storm surges.  I'm mainly concerned about flooding near where I live.  Some nearby towns got hit really badly by Irene.  It's such a huge storm they could get serious flooding again if the rain is as heavy as predicted.

Tis definitely was a wise choice there Ixy!! I so pray that New Jersey does not take a direct hit from the storm as all the models are suggesting.  This storm is so massive, tis will cover from Washington DC all the way to Boston and as far inland as Ohio and perhaps Michigan!! And worse, the storm is expected to stick around for a while with its devistating winds and heavy rains!!  And a lot of the people in Upstate New York and Vermont are JUST getting their lives back together from Irene, and now they will be hit yet again with a storm twice as bad?  God be with us!  You wouldn't happen to have an Arc like Noah's, now would ya? I do live on high ground but not in an ark.  So many towns like Livingston Manor and Margaretville are flood prone.  It's awful.  They're likely to get trashed again.

And Peekamoose area got washed out too, right?  The road was totally washed out, from what I remember.  I'm not too worried about the Delaware River in Burlington City even though I'm a block away since tis tidal water there and the river bed is wide.  Tis would only flood out the park anyways.  But Lambertville City and those rivertowns in Hunterdon and Warren Counties have to worry, one, tis usually floods during the storm since they against the mountain and they always get a wall of water coming down off the mountain, then they have to worry a few days later about the Delaware River since tis will take a few days for all the runoff water from the Catskills to wash down towards Trenton.

I might get the remnants from it on Monday and Monday Night, Tuesday and Tuesday Night, and even Wednesday Night, because I might get a mixture of rain and snow. Yet, I'm part of the Midwest (KY/IN/possibly MO)
