I already talked about and even reviewed this cartoon in: https://inkbunny.net/j/542151-kamikazetiger-its-kamikaz... but as far as I know, back then, there was nothing confirmed about Dragon Prince supposed to have at least another season to conclude its plot. I mean, one of the reasons why so many people like me hated that ending is how it's soooooo open! And now this...huh.
I'm not sure how to feel about this. This proves that the plan was always to have another season in the very least, but they didn't know if Netflix was going to give them that, and Netflix had no obligation to after they renewed the cartoon for four seasons at once! How many cartoons/anime do you wish had so many seasons guaranteed to it and yet they had to make do with one or two at most, sometimes not even knowing if they were going to get a single new season to work with? This is one of the reasons why stuff like Korra sucked so much! And yet, Dragon Prince got FOUR AT ONCE!!! And that still wasn't enough to finish the cartoon? Despite so much filler stuff in the last seasons?
They were so lucky that Kickstarter worked; otherwise, I guess the ending of season 7 is all we would ever get, just think about that. Doesn't this mean they kinda forced the fans to PAY them to fix the mess they started, by "not ending" things in season 7, despite certainly knowing they weren't going to be given more seasons by netflix?
That being said, I admit I'm interested to check it out if not just because adult Azymondias is hot -w-!
