Itch.io Bans "Bodily Waste". I Draw Pee A Lot. I Need A Plan!

Oh dear.
Right after I advertised I have a Watersports/pee tier on my Patreon, new payment processor rules come in for Itch.io and appear to say "bodily fluids" are banned.
I was planning to sell art packs there after Gumroad dropped me.

Curse you processors! Let Annie pee!

So I have contacted Patreon with questions about pee and animal genitals and sent my art in for review.
I got an automated response that dodged all my questions.
I asked follow up questions and need to wait for a real person to respond.

If these new rules on Itch.io hit Patreon it'll be devastating to me.
My Watersports tier has 45 people on it at $15 a month.

-----------------
What cruel entity would stop Annie from peeing?
Let the girl pee!
-----------------

Since this is such a big change and potential threat to my art as a job, I will need to come up with a plan.
A masterplan (one of my favorite "My Morning Jacket" songs)!

My plan is to update my Patreon, SubscribeStar, and DeviantArt Subscription tiers so I don't financially rely on a potentially banned art theme.

-----------------

And what will I do?

Draw more kinky themes!
Why limit myself to one main theme like pee?
Why not draw more!
Like lactation!
More kinky anal stuff like cumflation.
Anal object insertions.
"Gape farts" and "cumfarts"
Armpits!
Musk!

And pee may not actually be banned, so there's no confirmation I must stop.
So I will continue to draw it if allowed~

-----------------

Would people here be interested in that?
Most content banned is all related to "Noncon" content.
There's plenty more I can draw.

If you have any suggestions for themes I can draw I may try it!

I have Patreon tier changes planned and I'll update you all once I work those out.

I can't doom and gloom.
I will rebuild bigger, stronger, harder, hornier!

If "bodily fluids" are bannable then by their rules, tears , saliva, mucus, blood, lactation, cum, and vomit would all get you banned lol.

It's specifically bodily waste, which for some reason is listed with "extreme harm" in the same sentence.

"Fetish with bodily waste or extreme harm (e.g., "scat", "vomit")"
That's the rule.

Annie Hole pees: Extreme harm has been done.

Who gave her this power!?
It's a curse!

They didn't say piss so maybe that's still okay?

It's a grey area. Same on Patreon. It's banned for real people along with sex, but then illustrations are allowed to have all the sex content, but it leaves out any mention of urine. So it's just not addressed. Itch.io seems to directly address it as do many porn sites.

I have recently learned pee is a very hit or miss topic on porn sites. Many ban it. But not all. And there's levels, like pee may be allowed, but not peeing on someone, or pee drinking.

*Woman steps on a mans throat and pees on his face.*

Collective Shout: "HOW DARE YOU BE SO DEMEANING AND OBJECTIFYING OF WOMEN! THEY BELONG PREGNANT AND STANDING IN THE KITCHEN COOKING FOR THEIR HUSBANDS, NOT URINATING AND STANDING ON THEIR HUSBANDS THROATS!"

Forcing somebody not to pee would cause more bodily harm than not.

Hold your pee for a Wii.
Did not end well

Substar is better anyhow. I left Patreon a while back and don't regret it, especially since they allow AI.

I assume Substar may eventually be hit with these rules. But for now it seems smaller and safer.
If I have to I can archive all my "banned" art there, should I need to~

Substar is at reduced risk since they followed one key rule the others did not.  They do not mix SFW with NSFW.
The NSFW is not the same payment processor as the SFW.

Platforms like Patreon, Itch and even Steam hoped that their member management solution would be enough to gap between those types of content.  They are wrong.  In Visa/MC rules to platforms, if you wish to have adult/high risk content you MUST segment the sites out.  The way you do this is by having it on a different domain.

Hence the following:

https://www.subscribestar.com/
and
https://subscribestar.adult/

Since most people do not deal with high risk payment processors directly, they are unaware of that rule.

To that end though... Visa and MC are risk management sensitive businesses.  If you draw too much negative attention they will find a way to go after your site.

Many companies avoid this by spreading out their domains.  One company (who shall remain nameless) owns about 50+ normal porn sites and never gets into any trouble with Visa/MC.

So if you wish to stay safe, find someone who can provide you with a fallback plan, not a replacement plan for patreon/substar/itch, etc.

How would one go about finding someone that can provide a fallback plan?

I sell my art on Patreon, SubscribeStar Adult, and Deviant Art Subscriptions.
Patreon and DA have about the same rules for what is allowed. Substar Adult has lees rules detaled, so I am unsure what the actual lines are there.

So if Steam, Itch, Patreon etc. don't have seperate sites for adult work there will just be more issues in the future?

"How would one go about finding someone that can provide a fallback plan?"
You can find a neutral hosting platform (there are a few).  Start small with something like a personal website/domain.  I know these exist as I built one.  But I am not here to solicit as people like Sabudenego did this too, but with their own spin.  I focus on getting a site up, providing setup and a basic membership site.

"I sell my art on Patreon, SubscribeStar Adult, and Deviant Art Subscriptions.
Patreon and DA have about the same rules for what is allowed. Substar Adult has lees rules detailed, so I am unsure what the actual lines are there.
"
That sadly is normal as they need to provide "general" guidelines with Hard "DO NOT" lists.

"So if Steam, Itch, Patreon etc. don't have separate sites for adult work there will just be more issues in the future?"  Unless something changes with law, I think they will eventually have to follow "high risk" provider rules.  This will upset game devs and artist since you are cutting the potential consumer base reach by quite a bit.

So, its not all doom, but its not a simple one click build solution like what patreon provided to many in the past.  I am also worried about the future of services like discord as if they were to get hit that kills coordination.  Basically an old work collogue once told me this "if you don't host it, you don't own it."

Patreon hassled me about Incest all the way back in 2017...

I have hated them for years.

It was banned there before I even opened a Patreon.
So I avoided it and all noncon content.
Has worked!
But pee? Man, seeing that listed on Itch as a form of "extreme harm" is wild.
It's a large chunk of my Patreon support.

Not sure what Patreon can do if told to ban it, though.

I thought irt was only for free content?
Any paid NSFW is still banned, right?
I was in a few art packs that were sold on Itch and I assume I would not be able to do that now.

Yeah, I was unaware of the stipulations at the time and forgot to update my comment. Sorry 'bout that.
