as I stated in response to this journal, even my ideas get nixed, and even so, I may get an idea that he really likes, or finds interesting. odds are, like in the case of the Huckleberry's Hijink story I did, you can base a story off of a PAL piece. actually, I did this twice and the Strawberry Shortcake art one was the second time... the first time, I wrote a story based off of a piece that
did.
I've mentioned this on DA, I'm not the go-to guy when bbmbbf needs a story script: more like a go-to guy, as there are others on the PAL Team bbmbbf shoots with. "So Dr.?, how come you get stories done on PAL?" two answers: 1) because I always have an interesting, or unique story to put on the table; 2) I may ask about certain things... let's take the most recent one of mine, Coming to Terms for example... and mind you, it updated a few days ago. I pitched to bbmbbf an idea on a Simpsons piece, and even told him about other Simpsons stuff that is around, then I wrote up C2T... mind you, there's a lot that I had to remove from that story, and as you can see, it's on PAL. and as I said when I posted the cover here on Inkbunny, it's been years since PAL had a Simpsons story, in fact, there's only been one other Simpsons story on PAL before C2T.
first and foremost, "Do something new!" I've read the responses on Facebook and you lot mostly want Sonadow, Silvaze (horrible ass couple), or some other Sonic story. seriously folks, there are 26 Sonic Series stories on PAL as of 10/22/12... yes, Sonic stories put PAL in the dancehall, but if that's all you want/all you can write about, then do Dr.? a favor and "stop! step away from the hedgehog." take your Sonic idea and put it towards another theme. second, "Do your homework." I did this with C2T... the majority of Simpsons comics involve Bart or Lisa with the "Straight Shota" theme. look at the comics from others and build a theme from the series that isn't the same song and dance. for example, American Dad. make a story about.... Roger's secret life. third, "Interesting stuff is always a plus." Here's an idea that you can try: a Ducktales story about what happened to Webby. we already know that after Ducktales, Huey, Dewey and Louie live with Donald in Quack Pack and go about their years making money, and before that, they act as the band in Disney's House of Mouse. fourth, and this one is a long shot, "Boost the count on a short quota on PALcomix." here's an idea for you guys that even Pietro might agree with: I challenge one of you guys to pitch him a Samurai Pizza Cats story. it's not that hard...
you can turn a fanfic into a comic script in three easy steps: add page count; seperate the stuff going on in your paragraphs in four panels; make a pitch for bbmbbf. I mean, this gives you great experience in five different types of futures and you can put this on your resume. but hey, if you guys don't want to try to make new/interesting stories, I will gladly take that space from you =3
