I lost half of my material designed
My computer crashed the hd
and I am very upset

I'm so into making request
with people who may me
help! because I'm out of ideas
and I'm really tired of only
draw

what a cathastrophe...;_; *hugs you* thats an horrible eventuality that happens way too often than desired on PC's

i still trembling and shivering waiting for SSd to become of main use....mechanical hdds just became firghteningly unreliable in latest years ;__;

If you take less work in your hands, your computer will "broke" much less.. trust me ;3

Also, you receive MUCH MORE and MUCH BETTER drawings than me so, don't complain in that part >8C

Ah man, if only I could look at the harddrive.
I could tell ya if it would be expensive or not to recover the data.
One must always have backup external memory in this day and age.
Just thank God that it's not as expensive as it use to be.

Well...I'm an EDP-Tech so something like that is always bad to hear, because computers are supposed to make life better not more depressing. Well...if you were liveing in Vienna, I could take a look at the broken HDD, to see if the data is still there. I suggest a raid for your data, so there safe in case one HDD dies. ;3)
If you have a older PC that does not have a hardware raid controller, you can add one on a free PCI slot, there are some for SATA and also for PATA or EIDE available...it's a bit costly, but worth every cent.

A RAID 1 is enough, for that you need tow HDDs and your data is automatically mirrored on those, every time you write/delete data. Before you format them, you have to install the RAID in the hardware RAID controller BIOS. Alternately you can also make one on a Windows XP(with some modifications to it)/Vista or 7 can do this already with integrated software. You'll still need 2 HDDs for that, installed in the PC or on 7 you also can do this with tow USB-Drives(USB2 or higher...also works over fire-wire)...but the software solution can only read it on the same Version of Windows.
