IF YOU OPEN A BAG OF DORITOS...CAN YOU CALL YOURSELF A CHEF?
IF YOU ONLY LISTEN TO AUDIOBOOKS, CAN YOU CALL YOURSELF A READER OR LITERATURE AFICIONADO?
IF YOU PLAY FORZA MOTOR SPORT OR NEED FOR SPEED, BUT NEVER DRIVEN AN ACTUAL RACE CAR, CAN YOU CALL YOURSELF A RACE CAR DRIVER?
then...WHY DOES PEOPLE THAT WRITE WORDS ON A PROMPT SO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE CREATES AN IMAGE, STEALING FROM REAL IMAGES DONE BY REAL ARTISTS, PRETEND WE CALL THEM ARTIISTS?
AND WHY WE ARE SUPPOSED TO CALL ART A DIGITAL FRANKENSTEIN OF IMAGES STOLEN TO REAL ARTISTS THAT WORKED ON THEIR CRAFT TO CREATE SOMETHING REALLY ARTISTIC?
WHY ARE WE SO EAGER TO REPLACE HUMANS ON EVERY SINGLE THING WE DO?
and no, this is not about traditional art only, digital art tools are okay, AS LONG AS A HUMAN BEING CREATES THE ACTUAL ARTWORK, INSTEAD OF LETTING A MACHINE PRETEND TO BE AN ARTIST.
a.i. generated art feels like artistic rape. corporate, lifeless, soulless rape.
why must we call it a.i. ART? it is not art, it was done by a machine, not by an artist. writing three words on a prompt does not make you an artist, it makes you a lazy writer at the very least.
so, why sites like this and fur affinity allow artificially generated art to get the attention real artists here try to get? a guy sitting on his phone or laptop writing words on a a.i. image generator deserves the same space, promotion and visibility than someone who spent years practiicing and learning artistic theory and techniques to create art they can share and let anyone enjoy?
if you consume a.i. generated art, you are killing real art. it's that simple.
