I hate the modern Sonic fandom, I honestly do, but I'm not letting them stop me from doing something with the franchise, even if the franchise has forsaken me.
I hate how the franchise is spiteful towards the Western, aka American continuity of the franchise that existed before Sonic Adventure. They treat it like dogshit, and they make us feel like shit for even enjoying it and wanting it to be recognized. I miss the Freedom Fighters and the concept of Mobius as a whole, and I honestly wish the two continuities could've coexisted a LOT sooner. But then there's the fanbase itself, which is full of liberals who love to gatekeep and treat others like shit, and end up getting rewarded for it.

I'm right there with you. I grew up during the height of the Sonic SatAM/Comic era that featured the Freedom Fighters, and I miss it too. It pisses me off how SEGA just shrugs it off and keeps giving us the same thing over and over. I really feel if they reintroduced the Freedom Fighters and did some projects with them, it could really pep up the franchise. I don't really mind if Sonic and Sally are reduced to the friend zone, just as long as she, along with the others, are present.

I hear ya. I do miss the freedom fighters side of the Sonic franchise. And the community itself can become wildly disorganized over different opinions on this or that. Who knows, maybe one day, some how, we might be gifted with a surprise visit of Sally, or someone else from that time era. If nothing else, they might discreetly mention Sally or the freedom fighters.
