i'm rather indifferent to it for the most part. i just file it under musk. it's not something i'm exactly into, but it can be a fun little detail to include sometimes, as you've seen in a few of my stories. i won't read it if it's the main focus, but i don't really care if there's just a little scene of it. people shying away from your content is just a thing that's always going to happen. it comes with the territory of having weird kinks x3

i don't think posting the occasional pit story is gonna make people jump ship. you don't read everything i post but you're still here for most of it. pretty sure most people are the same in that sense. there's always gonna be the occasional stinker of a story (pun absolutely intended) but so long as you liked writing it, you succeeded. be a self indulgent little freak once in a while.

Mostly I do think of it as a fetish that's not mine but one that somebody ( either the writer or commissioner or both ) likes & I am ambivalent to it but I admit a few times I have been a little or more turned on by it

While armpits aren't a specific fetish for me, I love me some musk, and I think a whole lot of other furs do too, so I just roll it into that. Lean into it if you like it, I'm here for it!

And on the topic of fringe fetishes, I've got a massive thing for boys with jewelry, especially necklaces (or collars!) and piercings of any kind, and it's pretty hard writing that into a story without it seeming weird, I'll tell you :P

IRL, I don't like the idea of musk. I equate it to BO due to lack of deodorant, and I know some platonic friends who have had terrible smells. I prefer freshly showered play, but if the person I hook up with doesn't have an issue with their smells, then it may be alright for me.

However, your pleasure is my pleasure. To a certain degree, at least. Write what you want, even if your audience shifts a bit. Are you writing for yourself and letting your audience read it, or are you writing for your audience and hoping you can enjoy the output? Write a HUGE warning if you think it will be too much for some. I generally love it when others have a good time regardless of my preferences. But I do have some hard "no" kinks/fetishes, like scat for example. And even then, there can be a few exceptions depending on how it's handled. Gotta love nuances.

I was mostly interested in how it might drive people away to that end, I guess - i try to be transparent about the content warnings, because I don't ever want to flashbang someone with a common 'yuck'. :o)

To answer the question, I am very much into musk and scentplay (if my stories aren’t enough proof of that lol), so anythin’ within the realm of moderate and “clean” musk, I dig it. Armpit musk/fetish is a tad specific, and most specific kinks tend to cause a little uncertainty for followers—though I don’t think it’s a big issue :3

Yeah I think a lot of uncertainty around fetish space is how some people can dig into a specific kink to the point where their content is always about that one thing and it gets more and more extreme with every iteration. I definitely don't want to be that though, my armpit thing has been stable as fuck for years without escalating XD

Not my SPECIFIC fetish, but I have played that way with folk who do enjoy it, and as long as my partner is enjoying it, oddly, so am I... I guess one of my fetishes is pleasing my partner. While PITS specifically aren't my thing, I am into musk, or specifically, pheromone play. Something about a natural scent that catches me by the snoot and drags me in is a huge thing for me, and that specifically is to deal with pheromones. All in all, I read it all, and if something is a little squicky to me, I shrug and keep reading. The only thing I am not into, that will cold stop me in a story and I will close the book and walk away, is scat.

Hahah, yeah, I think a lot of people conflate musk with like, powerful/unwashed body odors when that isn't the point of attraction (at least for me) - it's more similar to your interest in that natural, raw attraction and interest, some people just naturally smell amazing. :D

Funny enough, it's something that I've been starting to accept is a kink of mine. I've been into musk for a long time, but pits specifically are new. I like seeing them aesthetically in art (pit fluff is hot >.>), and I'm getting into the idea of the scent based enjoyment as well. The way you included it in the Tent series was really good, imo.

Ahhh! One of us, one of us! :o) Tent's feature of the underarm thing is purposefully understated - me kind of pulling my (personal) punches a bit to give it a bit broader appeal, I guess. It's about appreciation and admiration and intimacy, the submissive urge to drown yourself in a top's smell, or the dominant urge to invade your bottom's space in an unexpected and novel, but still loving and appreciative way. :o)

I frankly loved when Dom turned around and got into Aaron's pits. (At least, I think that happened. It's been a while since I've read the series). I don't think I've read your other pieces where it's more blatant..yet.

Haha, in BTF most species are pretty in tune with their noses, whether they realize it or not. I don't always play it up but, generally, animal traits run on the stronger side in my personal little furryverse, since it gives so much potential for fun uses. :o) The Heatwave stories tend to go a bit more into the scent stuff than most of my other fiction because of thematic elements. Boy-boy scent there's Brotherhood and Tent, but Tent leans into it more out of those two.

Armpits are really fun! I prefer them clean, but I can appreciate when characters have some sort of distinctive smell that other characters can smell and recognize. Using it as a form of bonding and expressing love, friendship and maybe an obsession!
Armpit fucking is hella good too, just put some lube there and go wild bwahaha!

In a more serious tone, adding hints and some light details about fetishes seems pretty fair to me, probably won't ruin a story!
And I think you should go full-fetish in one of your stories too, niches will always exist :)
