Canvas Size! And Pen Stuff!

How should I go about canvas size? Or is my current way perfectly fine? I wanna be sure-

My current way is: I usually draw things at 3000x3000 and export it at 1000x1000, or if not 3000x3000 then I usually default to exporting it down at 33.33% of the canvas size. I read that it's better to export it at a smaller size than you originally draw it at.

Also, on the topic of pens, do any of you just have a universal pen you default to for lineart or do you have variations? I have the same pen just set for different sizes ranging from 3, 6, 9, 16, 21, 30, and 40. :3

I'm also partial to a graphite brush shape at times- but also this other brush shape, though it's in Japanese so I definitely dunno how to type it out. Really any brush shape that's not a smooth perfect line on its edges are ones I love. I also don't really make use of pen pressure, a mistake I'm sure, but I can never get the perfect settings, and I just don't wanna sit forever testing it. XD

Keep in mind this is on Clip Studio Paint. :3

Usually i like to go with predetermined ratios for the canvas size. The usual 16:9 over 4k resolution for the sake of being easy to view for devices although i have noticed that the 16:9 doesnt look very well on the IB page but that can be fixed with a square thumbnail or a 4:3 thumbnail.

For brushes i use the pen, the light pencil and the watercolours and i play a lot with the hardness scale of all of those (you can bind that in a shortcut to increase and decrease hardness :³)

I honestly haven't messed with hardness that much if at all- I should give that a try :3

It mostly helps with blending colours. For me it's very handy but for people that don't blend colours that much it might be a bit arbitrary.
