Lost a real one.  Roarey passed away.

Reports that
RoareyRaccoon
RoareyRaccoon
has passed away in his sleep.

While controversial and confrontational last few years we can't dismiss his impact on the Fandom.

The community lost a real one.

I said my peace elsewhere. I had hoped he'd change for the better, but he refused. He let his ego take hold, a lot like his followers who worshiped him. Several are claiming he died of natural causes at age 41. ... ... FORTY-ONE. I think he refused to get the healthcare he needed because it was 'socialist healthcare' that he so much hated. His groups are begging each other to not look into his death... Because it'd prove he was wrong... Or because it WASN'T Natural causes... He surrounded himself with hate, whether it was people hating him directly (He baited people into fights, even on twitter after he left IB), or his own hatred for others. He was fueled by it... And that stresses you out. I blocked all of his sycophants because of their hateful behavior for my own health, but they take it as "lol lib can't fight" (not a liberal, but they say it like that). I also blocked them because one of them tried to doxx me, and several sent me death threats.

I do not celebrate his death. I pitied him. I had hoped he could grow up, learn this shit kills, learn that his ego would be his own downfall, but he didn't... And it hurts that he refused to listen to us who tried to fight for him, not against him... And his fanatics won't see that either. They'll see another person disagreeing on the internet who deserves to be 'punished' by them. They're blind.

I hope he finds his next life to be one of learning and growth, for this life was not one of that caliber.

To those who think he spoke the 'truth' or he was 'blunt'... Fuck off. He spouted and regurgitated whatever was on the rightwing misinformation index of the week, or whatever conspiracy was popular at the time. He didn't come to conclusions, he didn't educate himself, he just saw a rightwing tweet or newsfeed and regurgitated it, just like all of you do. You take what flavor of hate is popular and spout it. And when confronted with someone who knows what the fuck they're talking about, you say they're brainwashed commies because it doesn't line up with that hatred. Shame on you. That behavior is not only unhealthy for YOU, but others around you. This is why I blocked all of you. You're not worth my time or effort anymore. You're not worth anything. Do better. Touch grass. See the world. Do something BETTER with your life than sitting on the fucking internet spouting political conspiracies, because it'll get you hurt, it'll stress you out, and it'll make you angry. There's better things to do with life, FIND THEM.

this is pretty much while I unfollowed him.  I won't be sad about his passing, I won't say "oh he was such a good person, he will be missed,"  he was not.  "controversial" is an understatement.  He was filled with hate.

That being said, I wish death on nobody, I agree, I hope his next life he's a better person than in this one.

Our conversations ended up being the same ten lines exchanged over and over again.  Which in the end was why I stopped engaging as it wasn't benifiting either of us.

It is a pity.

I hope it's true he went in his sleep.

I have no means to verify though.

Basically how it happened when I interacted. "You're a socialist trying to hurt me, you're evil and deserve to die!" when I merely said "Universal healthcare is important to a large population to survive." or something similar. He took everything I said as a direct attack against him or his ideology, even if it was something like "I'm worried about your health. This can't be healthy for you. Your aggression is hurting you." I told him he was aggressive for no reason multiple times, but his fans would try to dogpile anyone who questioned him. They believed since they had numbers, they were always 'correct'.

His ego was part of his downfall too... He always 'had to be right', he tried to pull the 'I've been doing this for 10 years' card on me... Someone who's been studying a particular subject for 25 years, and I even then, I wasn't an armchair researcher, I literally studied in schools.

You have to pick your battles.  He wanted to fight them all.

I feel if he had avoided Twitter earlier on it would have gone better for him.

He didn't find anything but confrontation there.

And the site hasn't changed, only degraded what little conversation can be had there.

They say twitter is a pit of nazis and shit, but it's also a pit of SJW types and puriteens... Piranhas from all sides. I avoid it because you have a target on your back regardless.

He lead a group of far right babyfurs, which was very strange and contradicting. I'll not insult him either since that's not fair to do. He had a few positive traits at least so we'll just remember him for those. He liked the British comedy show Keeping Up Appearances and he liked Tails a lot, both things I also liked growing up. At least I can relate to him that way.

I have a hard time believing natural causes as well. 'Old age' and 'natural causes' are not real. Everyone is suggesting heart failure, likely due to his diet of fast food and his smoking habit. Someone suggested he might be a heavy drinker but I've never seen him drink alcohol much if at all.

I have... Dozens of negative encounters with him. If I am to say one positive thing, it's he moved away from defending pedophiles over a decade ago... At least, on the public face...
FoxTanukiBoy

No, he kept defending Trump regularly.
SpoonFox

Okay, that's silly, you got me there. But this was about him defending a furry who molested a 2 year old with the logic of "The child was asleep, so no abuse happened!" (And yes, we have the livejournal comment documented... We have a lot of documents of these kinds of people, not just him.)

Oh I know who Tweaker is alright. Roarey defended him? I'm not surprised. Tweaker says he never did it and it was a fanfic he wrote then people thought it was real. Who knows.

I didn't interact with him much, and it is true he was a controversial individual with a stubborn attitude towards certain aspects of life, but even we don't really know what could have been the reason why he became bitter like that.
But, all there is to say now is RIP.
TwoTails

They do say that many people that use & hold too much bitterness can die way too early (is like a complementary of the same happening to people that are too kind as well).
I'm stuck in a neutral opinion, all things summed I can't say anything particularly good or bad about him.
But does sorta seem like there was a valuable lesson there.
CuriousFerret
2 months, 3 weeks ago
I'd like to think if the lesson helped others out of bitterness Roarey would find some peace in that.
TwoTails
2 months, 3 weeks ago
Maybe.
Oh, another complement part that makes it a trifecta would be Party-Animals oft die young too, maybe Dragoneer fit into that one.

Neer got fucked by the US medical system. He died from what I suffered from. My medicaid provided me aid. We had the exact same thing, it was treatable... And it pisses me off so much.
TwoTails

I know, but I'm saying a very superficial/boiled-down type of grouping of how young people die.
Details would be too many since includes like drugs, gangs, domestic violence, police, toxic food, etc.
But the most common things seemingly link up at a few traits like being altruistic, antagonistic or a partier.
And I'm well antiquated with the US medical industry, I got various problems including long neglected sepsis I'm getting no help on because they're as helpful as sticks in the mud, have to treat my own problems with not-so-great means.

That guy literally bragged on his social media profiles that he ate extreme amounts of junkfood daily and laughed at the idea of health.
SpoonFox
2 months, 3 weeks ago
Neer didn't laugh at the idea of health, he struggled with both physical and mental health for years. He worked with doctors a lot. I get that you IB folks hate the guy, but don't spread misinformation.

He also didn't die from junkfood?! He died from a pneumonia infection.
FoxTanukiBoy

Been on his social media and talked to the guy. He would laugh at you and post a party pizza as a reply to health concerns. He still has one up on his Twitter as his banner outright. The guy ate himself to death proudly.

I never met the guy, but I have friends knew him years ago, before he fell down a certain rabbit hole and became consumed by hatred and judgement of others. Unfortunately that's the only side of him I ever saw and decided to stay clear of. "Controversial" is certainly a more delicate way of phrasing things than Roarey would have used to descibe those he disapproved of. I can't pretend to grieve the person he became, but I'll mourn the person that my friends once cared about.

He was always like that, just spamming far left wing stuff prior then switched over due to getting excited in 2016.

Roarey lived in the UK I think as when I got 4 commissions from him and his CD. I never had a bad word with him and knew he had some mental things going on too. Though he lived with his mom still. I'll miss him here lots.
