So, as of earlier yesterday, someone i know sent me some links for research talking about how "AI is making everyone dumber". Well, I'll put it bluntly. There are a few uses of AI that don't make one such, ie using it as a research assistant, aka specifically to make it grab hyper specific links to NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) reports on railway accidents and the like that would otherwise take months to find on their website directly due to how poorly laid out it is now (i swear it was easier to navigate and had a better UI ten years ago).
However, when you rely on AI to do every single thing for you, or even a majority of things? Yeah, you're gonna probably get dumber.
Now, what does this have to do with me continuing writing? Well, it's simple. There has been a huge uptick in AI generated imagery and even stories on sites such as this one lately, and by continuing to do such manually on my end, i am not only retaining my intelligence, but also preserving an art form, even if my works don't currently perform that good. I was reminded today by another individual in a group of just how much I'm doing by their kindness, which is always good. As i will say again, AI has it's uses, but don't let it do pretty much everything for you, that's a recipe for bad news. Stay safe y'all, and stay mentally sharp.
